Mentone is located on Lookout Mountain in the northeastern part of Alabama in
DeKalb County.  Meaning "Toning of the Mind" or "Mind Stretching", Mentone was once
a destination known for its mineral springs, which were believed to have healing
powers.

The springs are no more, but the majestic feel of the town still remains today.   There
are so many treasures to be discovered in Mentone.

Rhododendrons adorn the area in the Springtime with their vivacious pink and
magenta colors.  They are wildly on display along scenic Lookout Mountain Parkway
along with the many Redbud and Dogwoods which help renew the mountainous
countryside.

Summer in Mentone brings children galore  as they play and enjoy the many summer
camps that are offered.  This is also a perfect time to play eighteen at one of the golf
courses in the area or one on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
The fall is the most breathtaking time in Mentone
as the leaves begin to take on their deep hues of
red, orange, and yellow.  The Fall Colorfest
along the brow in Mentone invites people to
celebrate this spectacular time of year.

During the winter, Mentone is famous for being
the only place with snow skiing in Alabama, at
Cloudmont Ski and Golf Resort.  Christmas time
is also a tradition for the area with downtown
being transformed into a winter wonderland.
